New Chemical Substance Management Regulation and GHS Seminar Successfully Held in Shanghai

The latest version of GHS Interpretation and New Chemical Substance Management Regulation Seminar hosted by China National Chemical Information Center (CNCIC) was successfully held on Sep 19 at Shanghai New International Expo Center. 

CNCIC Project Director Minyan Liang shared the global chemical regulation updates and solutions for companies, also gave a detailed introduction about the latest developments in chemical regulations and policies in China, Korea, Japan and Europe, communicated the problems encountered during the implementation of the regulations.

She gave an interpretation on the following regulations updates:

1.  RRACH regulations and impact of Brexit on chemicals export and solutions for companies.
2.  Previous K-REACH vs. Amendment, interpretation of the requirements for pre-registration of existing substances and notification requirements for new 
     substances.
3.  Overview and requirements of Chemical Substances Control Law (CSCL) in Japan and recent update.
4.  Interpretation on the Revisions of “Measures for New Chemical Substances Environmental Management” for New Chemical Substances in China.
5.  Overview “Administrative Law on Toxic and Concerned Chemical Substances” and the revision of “New and Existing Chemical Substance Registration” in
     Taiwan, China and analyzed the revised registration requirements on documents and test data.

Jolie Liang from CNCIC gave a detailed interpretation on revised parts of the 8th revised edition of the United Nations GHS, also shared GHS requirements and compliance points implemented in China. For the current problem enterprise met in activities, for example, the missing of SDS/label, version confusion, irregular of precautionary statements etc, Jolie proposed detailed solutions, which helped attendances understand the GHS implementation in China, and strengthen their sense of regulatory compliance. 

Attendances discussed on the problems they encountered with the experts fully. This seminar timely delivered update on regulations and compliance requirements for enterprises, and provided effective regulatory support for corporate trade activities.
