【Industry standard】“Regulations concerning road transportation of dangerous goods " (JT/T617-2018) officially released

On September 6, 2018, the Ministry of Transport issued the "People's Republic of China Ministry of Transport Announcement No. 68", aiming to issue 34 transportation industry standards such as the "Regulations concerning road transportation of dangerous goods" and abolish 8 transportation industry standards such as "oil boom", among which an highly focused standard “Regulations concerning road transportation of dangerous goods” (JT/T 617-2018, hereinafter referred to as JT/T 617) has been formally implemented from December 1, 2018.
 
The "Regulations concerning road transportation of dangerous goods" (JT/T 617) is a safety management standard for China's road dangerous goods transportation industry, and is also the implementation guideline for the dangerous goods road transportation management departments, enterprises and employees. The JT/T 617 standard benchmarked the national standard, which has been perfected the legal system of China's dangerous goods road transport management, and comprehensively improved the industrial safety management level. It will greatly lead to the healthy development of China's dangerous goods road transport.
 
The revised edition is jointly organized by the Ministry of Transport, the Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, Chang'an University, Beijing Jiaotong University, China National Nuclear Corporation, China Classification Society, BASF (China) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Chemical Research Institute Co., Ltd., etc. This edition integrates, expands and revise the “Rules for the Dangerous Goods for Car Transportation” (JT617-2004), and fully absorbs international rules such as the United Nations TDG and the European Convention ADR, combined with the actual situation in China, the JT/T 617 standard was formulated. The JT/T 617 standard consists of 7 parts, with more than 700 pages and more than 400,000 words. It systematically stipulates the operational requirements for dangerous goods classification, transportation and packaging, consignment, loading and unloading, and road transportation. The 2018 version is more standardized, and systematic in terms of the safety management of dangerous goods road transport than the 2004 version.
